Trade fairs and events

The international trade fair and conference Rapid.Tech is an important information platform in the field of generative manufacturing processes. The status and progress of rapid prototyping, the implementation of end products with the help of additive manufacturing as well as the entry of technology into series production are topics of the fair.

As part of a joint booth of the Fraunhofer Additive Manufacturing Alliance, the Fraunhofer IST presents itself for the first time at the trade fair for additive manufacturing.

From material development and production to processing and after-treatment, additive manufacturing along the process chain offers important intersections for surface technology.

Selected topics of the Fraunhofer IST in the field of additive manufacturing are the coating of powders, the in-situ plasma treatment of 3D-printed polymeric frameworks, so-called scaffolds, the plasma diffusion treatment of additive processed tool steels as well as the electroplating of polymers for aerospace applications.
