International Battery Production Conference IBPC 2023
The global demand for electrochemical energy storage devices is at an all-time high and is expected to increase dynamically. The production process from battery materials to battery systems is of great importance with regard to both environmental and cost targets. Since 2018, the International Battery Production Conference is dedicated to production related topics including recycling, circular economy and Supply Chains fostering the transition of the mobility system.
In cooperation with the VDMA Batterieproduktion, the German competence clusters ProZell, InZePro, greenBattNutzung and AQua as well as the Fraunhofer IST, the Battery LabFactory Braunschweig (BLB) established an international exchange and networking platform that addresses the latest developments in the area of battery production.
The thematic focuses of the conference are:
- Material development and production
- Electrode production
- Cell assembly
- Formation and aging
- Cell Types, module and pack design and production
- System integration and application
- Production of next-generation batteries
- Electrode, cell and module diagnostics during production
- Battery production 4.0, modelling, simulation and digital twin
- Recycling, circular economy and sustainability
- Battery supply chains and factory designs
The Fraunhofer IST is participating in the conference program with the following contributions:
