Automechanika 2024 is the world's largest trade fair for the automotive industry with a focus on the aftermarket, bringing together industry, dealership trade, maintenance and repair segment. The event is one of the most important B2B platforms for the transfer of knowledge between technology and science. The trade fair shows the latest trends, technologies and products and offers numerous networking opportunities as well as presentations and workshops. It stands out due to its international character with participants from 175 countries.

These topics are split into the following product segments for better orientation: Accessories and Customizing, Car Wash, Care and Detailing, Connectivity and Autonomous Driving, Diagnostics and Repair, Digital Solutions and Services, Electrics and electronics, Oils, lubricants and fuels, Parts and Components, and Tires and Wheels.

As part of the trade fair, a special focus on innovations is placed in the Future Mobility Workshop 4.0 where future technologies can be experienced interactively. The main topics are artificial intelligence and robotics, extended reality (XR), automation and digitalization. Together with the Fraunhofer IWU, the Fraunhofer IST will be presenting an automotive plastic component repaired by polymer extrusion. Using this method, the process of repairing is accelerated and its personnel costs are minimized. Additionally, the repaired part remains recyclable.
