SUSCON XI – 11th International Conference on Sustainability
The SUSCON XI conference is organized by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong and focuses on environmental sustainability and removing carbon from the environment for a climate positive world. This year's conference follows on from last year's conference, which discussed past environmentally destructive practices and the restoration of ecosystems and the earth's natural balance under the motto “Revisit Revive Restore”. Building on this, this year's conference will explore the question of how to revive and restore the environment and actively remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere in order to stabilize the climate and mitigate the effects of climate change.
SUSCON XI is thus an important platform to promote innovative solutions and strategies to combat climate change with the aim of achieving net-negative greenhouse gas emissions in a climate-positive world.
The focal points of the conference are:
- Climate Science and Impacts
- Climate Mitigation and Adaption
- Carbon Removal Technologies
- Sustainable Management Practices
- Policy and Governance
- Sustainable Finance and Investment
- Education and Capacity Building
The director of the Fraunhofer IST, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christoph Herrmann, will hold a keynote speech on "Positive Impact Factories for Sustainable Cities: Overview, Insights and Future Directions".
