Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM)

The Fraunhofer IST has been developing and characterizing both hard magnetic and soft magnetic materials for over 20 years. A vibrating sample magnetometer is available for determining magnetic properties. This can be used to characterize thin films on substrates, bulk material and powders.

Your advantage with magnetic measurements at Fraunhofer

With its many years of expertise in the field of magnetics, the Fraunhofer IST can support you in the characterization of your magnetic materials. We can record hysteresis curves for you up to an external field of ±2T and determine parameters such as saturation flux density, remanence, coercivity and magnetic permeability.
