Editorial
Dear reader,
As autumn draws in and the days gradually become shorter, this year’s third Newsletter provides you with new reading material concerning the Fraunhofer IST. Amongst other things, we report on the coating of the last of more than 2500 antennas for the space missions Sentinel-1 C and D, which has considerably influenced the daily working routine in the Fraunhofer IST galvanic department over the past 11 years.
You can look forward to two research reports as well as the third and final instalment of Professor Bräuer's answer to the question regarding the generation of vacuum. Furthermore, in the coming weeks, there will again be numerous opportunities for meeting the scientists from the Fraunhofer IST at trade fairs and conferences.
Here we are feverishly awaiting a “home game”: From 5th to 6th December, the International Conference on Reactive Sputter Deposition RSD will take place for the first time at the Fraunhofer IST in Braunschweig. We sincerely hope that we can fill you with enthusiasm for the interesting presentation program.
We hope you enjoy reading our Newsletter and send you our best wishes from Braunschweig.
