The year 2022 is drawing to a close and the world is confronting immense challenges and transformations which we, at the Fraunhofer IST, are also addressing and for which we are developing solutions in close cooperation with university and non-university research and our partners in industry.
Our activities at the Wasserstoff Campus Salzgitter concerning the structuring of the energy revolution through the use of hydrogen, the opening of patient rooms of the future in collaboration with the TU Braunschweig and the Städtisches Klinikum Braunschweig, and the joint Fraunhofer development of a platform for the mobile pre-clinical care of the population in Southern Africa in cooperation with the University of Stellenbosch are just a few examples.
At the Fraunhofer IST, we advocate not only innovative projects but also an innovative working environment. In order to fulfill the needs of our employees and to promote a cooperative, creative working atmosphere, we are working on the adaptation and implementation of customized New Work concepts. In the certification procedure of the Arbeitgeberverband Region Braunschweig e.V. (employers’ association for the Braunschweig region, AGV), we achieved top marks and are now entitled to bear the employer seal “Zukunftgeber”. Furthermore, we were distinguished by the Braunschweig Chamber of Industry and Commerce as a training company for our commitment and are, of course, particularly proud of the performance of our apprentices who, this year as in previous years, were among the best. With their commitment and skills they contribute – as do all the other employees and partners of the Fraunhofer IST – towards shaping the future in a sustainable manner.
On that note, we would like to express our sincere thanks for your trust and the successful collaboration. We are very much looking forward to new projects and cooperations.
On behalf of the entire staff of the Fraunhofer IST, I would like to wish you a relaxing time, a happy festive season and a healthy and peaceful New Year 2023.
With very best regards,
Christoph Herrmann
