Reference projects of the Fraunhofer IST

In collaboration with European and South African partners, the SERPIC project developed an integrated technology for reducing trace pollutants and pathogens in the effluent of wastewater treatment plants. For this purpose, membrane nanofilters and electrochemical cells with diamond electrodes were utilized. A prototype plant was established in Spain. The degradation goals for selected target pollutants were achieved to 92 %.
